Multilingual Month in Helmet libraries

During Multilingual Month, libraries will host a number of multilingual events.

Multilingual Month is an annual period of time between International Mother Language Day (21 February) and the World Poetry Day (21 March) that celebrates multilingualism. During Multilingual Month, libraries host various events that highlight the richness of language and examine the importance of mother tongue and languages through art, gatherings and doing things together.

In Helmet libraries, for example, stories will be read in several different languages.

Multilingual Month has been celebrated in Finland since 2015 and in the Nordic Countries since 2017. Multilingual Month is coordinated by the Multilingual Library in cooperation with the Culture for All Service.
