Bring life back to your wardrobe by having your clothes mended!

Event canceled

Tear in your jeans? Missing a button? Bring life back to your wardrobe by having your clothes mended! Come by with clean clothing in need of small repairs, not more than 2-3 per person. We will fix them for free!

The Clothes Repair-a-thon is a repeating event held in the greater Helsinki area of which the purpose is to inform and engage the community about responsible consumption. The event is open to everyone, free of charge and the people participating are encouraged to bring their own clothes for repairing, mending or up-cycling. The repairs are made for free and there are also basic sewing lessons offered on-site.

About Fashion Revolution:

On 24 April 2013, the Rana Plaza building in Bangladesh collapsed. 1,133 people died and another 2,500 were injured, making it the fourth largest industrial disaster in history.

That’s when Fashion Revolution was born. There were five garment factories in Rana Plaza all manufacturing clothing for the western market. The victims were mostly young women. We believe that 1,133 is too many people to lose from the planet in one building, on one terrible day to not stand up and demand change.

Since then, people from all over the world have come together to use the power of fashion to change the world. Asitimes Fashion Revolution is now a global movement of people like you.

About the organiser:

Saša Nemec graduated from the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Engineering in Ljubljana, Slovenia and has previously completed part of her studies of Textile and Fashion Design at the Winchester School of Art, England.

For the past year she has been volunteering for Fashion Revolution and organizing the so-called Clothes Repair-a-thons events of which the purpose is to engage with the community and inform about responsible consumption. The wider public is encouraged to bring their own clothes for repairing, mending or up-cycling and to engage with the community at large.
