HelMet.fi online services will be launched in Russian on 18.11.2014
HelMet.fi web site has been published in Finnish, Swedish, and English, but on the 18th of November the site will also be launched in Russian. The Russian version will include all crucial content of the online services. New content will be published regularly.
The Russian HelMet.fi will have articles in Russian about library services, news about events in Russian or events about Russian culture, and information about titles in Russian. One of the goals is to get the Russian speaking customers acquainted with the online library services which they so far have not been familiar with. The site will also be useful to those who speak Russian as their second language. Students and enthusiasts of Russian language and culture nationwide will be one group to use the site.
The Capital Region has about 30 000 Russian speaking residents. Since 2013 Sello Library has been the home for Russian Library that serves the whole Capital Region. The Russian speaking population is a prominent group in Finland with over 66 000 people.
