A new library will be opened in Jätkäsaari
Jätkäsaari Library will be opened in Huutokonttori in August-September at the following address: Tyynenmerenkatu 1.
– Library is located in central and easily accessible place close to a tramline. Almost whole of the second floor, that is, nealy 300 square meters of the historical building is at library disposal, says the Deputy Library Director Saara Ihamäki.
– Beautiful and modern premises for the local residents. Especially the needs of the families with children have been taken into consideration such as traditional fairy tale hours.
Ruoholahti children’s library will be open until 29th May. Books and other library items will be transferred to the Jätkäsaari Library during the summer.
– It’s only a short distance from the Ruoholahti to the new library. Once the traffic arrangements have been taken care of, the route will be safe also for children, Ihamäki says.
Staff is also responsible for providing necessary information concerning the building projects.
City library will take care of normal library services in the new library. What is new is that that library is also responsible for providing information as regards the overall Jätkässaari building projects. Customers can acquaint themselves with the area’s miniature model and blueprints with maps and viewing screens.
Library will be open six days a week, from Monday to Saturday. More detailed information on daily opening hours will be provided later.
