It is permitted to open the reading rooms from 15 June onwards
At its meeting on Thursday, June 10, 2021, the Metropolitan Area coronavirus coordination group outlined that library reading rooms and group activity facilities may be opened from June 15 2021 onwards. Self-service hours are also permitted from 15 June onwards.
The pace of opening facilities, equipment and independent use services varies from library to library. Check the current situation for each library. Contact information for the libraries.
Facility bookings can be made from Varaamo (varaamo.hel.fi, varaamo.espoo.fi ja varaamo.vantaa.fi). Available facilities and equipment are updated in Varaamo.
Facility and equipment reservations
In Helsinki, you can reserve facilities and equipment in Varaamo starting from 14 June. The facilities and equipment will be available for use starting from 15 June. In Vantaa, you can make reservations in Varaamo starting from 15 June and in Espoo starting from 21 June.
Libraries in Helsinki (Suomenlinna, Herttoniemi and Laajasalo), Espoo and Kauniainen will start self-service library services on 15 June. Please see library websites for more detailed information. Self-service opening hours will be introduced gradually in Vantaa. Library contact details.
