Helmet-kirjastojen rekisteriseloste on päivitetty.

The Helsinki Central Library Oodi, which is to be opened in December 2018, is an open meeting place at Kansalaistori, right in the heart of Helsinki. Oodi will receive the international visibility it deserves as it is presented at the Venice International Architecture Exhibition for six months, starting on 26 May.

After four months of renovation, the library will reopen at 12 noon on Thursday, 1 February 2018.

The Helmet Reading Challenge inspires people to read something new for the fourth time. It is an open invitation to reading for all and we hope you join us too!

The basic renovation of the library was planned together with Youth Services and residents.

From 1 January 2018 onwards, the libraries in Itäkeskus, Kontula, Pasila, Rikhardinkatu, Töölö and Vuosaari will open on weekdays at 8am. Kallio Library will also follow these opening hours as soon as it reopens after renovation works in February. This trial will last for one year.  

The site of the library Oodi by the Kansalaistori Square will be ceremoniously lit from 5 Dec to 6 Dec 2017. The light installation is titled “An Ode to Finland”, highlighting the library of the future in majestic fashion.

Pähkinärinne  library outlet will open on Wednesday, January 10, at 13:00. The self-service library will be open from Monday to Friday, from 7:00 to 12:00.
