What's going on The renovated children’s section at Oodi invites visitors to read books The popular children’s section located on the third floor of the Central Library Oodi has been renovated during the spring. The opening of the children’s section will take place on 11 June.
What's going on Helsinki libraries to change their printing and computer use practises Helsinki libraries will be introducing a new printing system at the beginning of 2023. Customers will no longer log into computers using their personal credentials. To print materials, you will first have to create a printing account. Free printing will no longer be available in Helsinki.
What's going on Library literary events developed to reach new audiences The Oodi Book Festival marks the beginning of the Book Heaven project, focusing on library literary events. The project explores different ways of implementing literary events and their effects on visitors’ reading enthusiasm.
What's going on Library reservations increasing – borrowing from the shelves to be encouraged Helsinki City Library has launched a project to promote reading, improve the service experience and encourage clients to borrow from the shelves through co-creation.
Oodi's Facilities Pop up area On Oodi’s first floor, it is possible to organize small-scale pop-up events. The pop-up area can serve as a brief temporary information point.
Oodi's Facilities Kitchen, Learning room 4 The small group kitchen for rent at Oodi is suitable for 10 people. The kitchen can be used for cooking together or having meetings. The space has thus far been used for recreational days, family gatherings and birthday parties.
Oodi's Facilities Kuutio Kuutio, which can be rented, is located on the second floor of Oodi. Kuutio is a glass-walled space of 90 square meters. The space is currently mainly used as a meeting room and training facility. The space is equipped with two screens and projectors.
Oodi's Facilities Kino Regina Kino Regina on the first floor with 250 m2 of auditorium-style space is a suitable venue for lectures, film screenings and various events. The facility is accessible with the exception of the seats.
