Christmas mail for the elderly
The “Christmas mail for the elderly” campaign invites to send Christmas cards to older people.
The “Siskot ja Simot” society for creative caring and its partners will arrange a campaign called “Christmas mail for the elderly” on 16.11.–11.12.2020. The aim of the campaign is to collect Christmas cards for the elderly clients of home care and housing services. The campaign involves more than 90 municipalities across Finland.
“To a lonely senior citizen, a Christmas card gives the feeling of being remembered. Cards can convey a human touch and bring joy to our fellow humans”, says Eero Väisänen, Executive Director of Siskot ja Simot ry.
Christmas wishes will be written onto the cards. “For you” is written into the space reserved for the recipient, and the sender’s own name plus Siskot ja Simot into the space reserved for the sender. The cards are dropped into the nearest collection box without an envelope.
