Helsinki Central Library Oodi will be closed from Wednesday March 18th.
Language cafe in Swedish is in Oodi every other Thursday at 17.00 -18.30.
All libraries in Finland shuttered their doors on March 18, Oodi included. This does not mean that work has ceased for us librarians. During the weeks ahead, you can read here what is happening behind the scenes while Oodi is closed to the public.
The services of City of Helsinki Culture and Leisure Division (libraries, library buses, cultural centres, museums, youth centres and all indoor sports facilities) will be closed from Wednesday March 18th.
Oodi's recording studio is open
On Oodi’s first floor, it is possible to organize small-scale pop-up events. The pop-up area can serve as a brief temporary information point.
The small group kitchen for rent at Oodi is suitable for 10 people. The kitchen can be used for cooking together or having meetings. The space has thus far been used for recreational days, family gatherings and birthday parties.
Kuutio, which can be rented, is located on the second floor of Oodi. Kuutio is a glass-walled space of 90 square meters. The space is currently mainly used as a meeting room and training facility. The space is equipped with two screens and projectors.
Kino Regina on the first floor with 250 m2 of auditorium-style space is a suitable venue for lectures, film screenings and various events. The facility is accessible with the exception of the seats.
Playground Loru is situated in the heart of Oodi.
Warmly welcome to the children’s section in Oodi!
Services for families with children at Central Library Oodi will be improved when Playground Loru is moved from the first floor to the children’s section balcony on the third floor on Monday 18 November 2019. The amount of pram parking space will also be increased in connection with this change.
Schools and kindergartens are warmly welcome to visit Oodi on their own. We have created a set of excercises to print out and use during your visit.
