Helsinki has gained a new mobile library, Stoori. Stoori goes where people are and offers the delightful experience of discovering reading as a hobby.
Illustrator Riku Ounaslehto has designed the new fairytale-like illustrations of the new Stoori mobile library in Helsinki. His favourite motifs include animals and plants, which are also featured in Stoori’s illustrations.
Services of the City of Helsinki’s Culture and Leisure Division will make regular stops at seven public playgrounds this June to brighten the days of local families. The tour will include pop-up art workshops, music-making and guided exercise, as well as visits from Helsinki’s library buses.
The wonderful mobile libraries Stoori and Skidi take turns on the route. The mobile library makes its rounds on weekdays, except during the midsummer break, public holidays and on the days preceding public holidays.
