Vantaa libraries to replace Varaamo with Timmi 360 As of February 1, 2023, premises and devices currently reserved through the Varaamo service will transfer to the Timmi 360 service. You can make reservations for premises and devices on Varaamo up to January 31, 2023.
Vantaa libraries adopt a new printing system Vantaa libraries adopt a new printing system, which has been developed based on the employees’ and library visitors’ wishes. You will need a library card for printing, photocopying, and scanning documents.
Borrow an energy consumption meter from the library The energy consumption meter allows you to measure the electricity consumption of household appliances plugged in to the power point. The loan period is two weeks, and a valid Helmet library card is required for borrowing the meter.
As of October 1, some libraries will be open also on Sundays Myyrmäki, Tikkurila and Koivukylä libraries will be open also on Sundays from October to the end of the year. During sundays, there is no customer service at the libraries.
Lukulumo - a multilingual library service In the Lukulumo application, you can find over 520 Finnish language books, many of which you can listen to in over 50 different languages. Lukulumo is available in every Espoo library and almost every library in Vantaa.
Volunteer at Vantaa libraries As a volunteer at a Vantaa city library, you can participate in arranging many different activities. You can also arrange activities in your mother tongue.
A fee will be charged for uncollected reservations Helmet libraries will start charging customers a fee of €1 for reservations that have not been picked up or cancelled by the last pick-up date. Reserving materials will continue to be free of charge. The uncollected reservation fee will be introduced 1 June 2021.
Tastes for the Mind reading-promotion summer campaign for families with children Vantaa City Library arranges a Tastes for the Mind reading-promotion summer campaign that aims to encourage families with children to read and to use library services. The campaign begins on June 21 and ends on August 31.
Printing and photocopying at Vantaa libraries Printing, photocopying and scanning at Vantaa libraries is free of charge. You can print or photocopy at max. 20 black-and-white or two color sheets per day.
Printing service is available in Vantaa libraries again As of June 1, 2021, you can again print at Vantaa libraries. At the same time, we will be applying the print@vantaa.fi service to all customer printing. Using the printing service requires that you have an email address.
