A sustainable wardrobe: guest author Rinna Saramäki
How do you buy fewer, but high-quality clothes? How much is too much and how can you tell when a piece of clothing is of high quality? How do you avoid impulse purchases that only fill up your wardrobe? How can you streamline your own style? Can you be environmentally conscious while still being into fashion?
These and many more fascinating topics bursting forth from the depths of the wardrobe will be explored by non-fiction author Rinna Saramäki at Itäkeskus Library on Thursday 19 November at 18:00. Saramäki has authored several books, including Joka tyypin kaavakirja, Hyvän mielen vaatekaappi and 250 ilmastotekoa, joilla pelastat maailman, in addition to which she runs a popular blog focusing on environmentalism and recycling.
During this workshop-type evening session, participants will get a chance to try out different materials and learn how to differentiate between high-quality and cheaply produced materials, for example. No advance registration required, free entry.
Author Rinna Saramäki’s workshop event is part of the environmentally themed Sustainable East event tour, which is coming to all libraries in East Helsinki in October and November. Come and take part!
